I voted yes too. I think the problem is that most people don't think of the recall as revenge for Gray Davis not standing up to Enron. They think Davis was somehow personally responsible for the blackouts, high energy prices and so on. Sure, they may haves some fuzzy notion that there was some corporate price-gouging going on or something. But it's a lot easier to blame those damn bureaucrats and their overtaxing, underperforming ways! I dunno, don't look at me.
Also, I'd say a lot of people have an almost pathological loyalty to the idea of the free market. I guess living through a stunningly obvious counterexample isn't enough.

It seems like after recalling a governor based on not standing up to enron et al, CA would be hip to regulating utilities. what's the deal?
