It's just overwhelmingly awesome. There's a lot to of work to be done ahead, but, for the first time in years, I feel like we might actually do it, accomplish something lasting.
It's just hard to put into the right words. I keep thinking of what might be my favorite campaign ad, which is of a zydeco concert for Obama. Like or the music or not, it's a vision of America that inclusive, ecumenical and, dagnabbit, lots of fun.
I'm also holding my breath w/r/t the shit sandwich Obama's got to wolf down in his first six months, but I must say, Election Night provided me with the deepest feeling of happiness I've enjoyed in probably years, and the greatest sense of pride I've ever felt in our political system. That is far from a small thing. I feel like it has restored and will nurture my faith in democracy for a very long time.
America did a good, smart thing. Can you believe it?

This is the most glorious moment I have ever actually witnessed. If I could cry, I would be bawling. I can't even say how much this means to me.
